Dr. Artem Cherkasov is co-PI on two CFI Exceptional Opportunity Fund grants awarded November 2020.

• Expanding COVID19 structure-based therapeutic development at UBC through enhanced CryoEM and CryoET data acquisition (PI: Dr. Natalie Strynadka; co-PIs Drs. Artem Cherkasov & Francois Jean), $1,225,000
• Optimization of inhibitors of key enzymes in Covid-19 and other targets in cancer (PI: Dr. Robert Young; co-PIs Drs. Artem Cherkasov & Natalie Strynadka), $200,000

This funding will enable the purchase of urgently needed equipment in projects aimed at fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
