Dr. Artem Cherkasov, a leading world expert in AI-driven health research at Vancouver Prostate Centre, recently won two international CACHE Challenges. Using advanced computational methods and artificial intelligence, his work identified potential new treatments for Parkinson’s disease and COVID-19, outperforming competitors from top global institutions.
The CACHE Challenges select a limited number of researchers to predict which molecules could bind to disease targets, a crucial step in drug discovery. Their predictions are tested in a cutting-edge Structural Genomics Consortium laboratory, with findings and chemical structures made publicly available for free.
