Dr. Nappi

Congratulations to Dr. Lucia Nappi, PI of the multi-centre international project “Integrating investigational miR371a-3p with conventional radiology imaging for earlier and more precise detection of active germ cell malignancy: a BCC/SWOG/S1823 secondary use of data collaboration” which received a five year, $1.5M USD National Institute of Health R37 Grant in the category of Imaging, Biomarkers and Digital Pathomics for the Early Detection of Premetastatic Aggressive Cancer.

Dr. Nappi's NIH R01 grant was converted by NIH to a Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT)(R37) Award which  provides longer term grant support to Early Stage Investigators due to the high score given by the reviewers to her grant proposal. This extends the original R01 grant from 3 to 5 years, for her international, multi-institutional research project to support personnel and consumable materials analyzing more detailed information within the S1823 clinical trial.
