Dr. Lucia Nappi (MD, PhD) has received a 2020 Tad Smith & Caroline Fitzgibbons-PCF Young Investigator Award for her project "Uncovering Lineage Plasticity in the Context of Specific Genomic Alterations in High Risk Prostate Cancer."
Mentored by Dr. Martin Gleave and Dr. Amina Zoubeidi, Dr. Nappi is investigating mechanisms of treatment resistance and response in patients with high-risk localized prostate cancer in a neoadjuvant precision medicine clinical trial. This study will uncover mechanisms associated with lineage plasticity and early signatures of treatment resistance, enabling refinement of future precision medicine approaches.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) Young Investigator Awards program identifies future research leaders who will keep the field of prostate cancer research vibrant with new ideas. The Young Investigator Awards offer career and project support for young (generally 35 and younger) proven investigators in postdoctoral fellowships or who have recently achieved junior faculty positions and are committing their lives to the field of prostate cancer.
Please visit the Prostate Cancer Foundation announcement for further information about her project.
